This was a  protoype for a new concept for a focus
group experience unlike anything in the marketplace
based on three assumptions:
  • Interaction in groups is valuable to the process and
    resulting data.
  • Clients need to  observe the nature of responses
and a better view would be beneficial.
  • Better video would also be beneficial.

The Experience concept  would use A/V  technology to
address these needs.  The key element is the
“respondent module” containing a monitor, a built-in
video camera, a microphone and speakers.   Signals
are sent real-time to displays in client suites, to
displays,  or recorded  to be edited.

Audio input sensors would direct video from active
sources to the display enabling the client to be “in the
middle” of the discussion with close-up, high quality
audio and video.  Clients and respondents can now be
located remotely on the same floor, on different floors,
in another building or even in another city.
