Knight Residence
The Warwick Towers
Living room to south
The Knights, an oil man and a professor, split time
between the city and their ranch. They wanted this
home, in the cultural center of Houston, to be a
sophisticated, modern city dwelling to contrast the
Victorian home they had built on the ranch.
Living areas are opened up to take advantage of views,
and passage to the Master bedroom and through the
office are spacious, again opening to views of the
downtown skyline.
A graceful curved ceiling is painted a light blue
borrowed from Vercace china displayed in the
contemporary china cabinet. Clear maple floors and
cream colored walls provide a continuity throughout the
home which flows smoothly from the master to the
guest suite at opposite ends of the space.
Living room to the north
To den and Murphy bed
Master bath
Rich finishes and striking contemporary fixtures and
fittings with bold geometry make the bathrooms both
dramatic and calming.
The guest suite doubles as a cozy den. A minimally
detailed paneled wall conceals a Murphy Bed and
storage.
Double doors open to the office from the living space
and master bedroom, affording views to downtown and
to the Medical Center. A contemporary library ladder
provides access to full height book shelves over the full
length surface which is backed by storage cabinets and
filing.
